Daniel Spires

Managing Broker, Owner, Lux Yachts

Captain Daniel Spires brings a lifetime on the water and over two decades of marine industry experience to his role as Owner and Managing Broker of Lux Yachts. Born into a family with deep-rooted ties to America’s inland waterways, Daniel grew up on Center Hill Lake and the Illinois River, where he learned to sail alongside his father and developed a love for boating from a young age.

His family’s history on the water dates back generations. In the late 1800s, his great-grandfather built what is recognized as the first houseboat in the United States and famously towed it by mule from Channahon, Illinois, to the 1895 World’s Fair in Chicago — a historic event that drew fairgoers and enthusiasts alike. Coming from a lineage of river people, trappers, and traders, Daniel’s life and career have always been anchored in the marine world.

He began his professional journey in 2000, selling new boats from top-tier brands like MasterCraft, Ebbtide, and Azure. Excelling quickly, Daniel was recognized as MasterCraft’s "Salesman of the Year" for three consecutive years, and later led dealership finance operations, further solidifying his all-around industry expertise.

Over the years, Daniel expanded his role from boat sales to full-service marine operations — running, delivering, and managing vessels of all kinds. Leveraging his hands-on experience and business acumen, he founded Lux Yachts, a premier yacht brokerage firm known for its transparent business practices and exceptional client service. Under his leadership, Lux Yachts has grown into a successful, multi-state operation serving clients across Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, and now, with the exciting partnership in Florida.

A licensed 100 Ton Near Coastal Captain, Daniel is not only an industry veteran but also a passionate advocate for boater education and safety. He currently serves on the board of SaferBoater.org, a nationwide initiative aimed at requiring formal boater licensing to promote safe and responsible boating practices.

Whether he’s brokering yachts, delivering vessels, or advancing national safety standards, Captain Daniel Spires remains fully immersed in the marine lifestyle — living out a family legacy and helping others create their own on the water.

Marc DeLoach

Growing up in Charleston, Marc was surrounded by boats from an early age and started racing sailboats at just 8 years old. His love for sailing carried him through high school and college, where he was the lead skipper for the College of Charleston Offshore Sailing Team.
After college, he turned his passion into a professional career, earning his captain’s license and spending three years captaining charter boats. His experience spans boat deliveries from Canada to Grenada, as well as captaining in Newport, Rhode Island, and New York. With extensive maritime knowledge and a commitment to helping others confidently navigate their own vessels, he is an incredible asset to the Lux Yachts team.

Now back in Charleston, Marc is ready to bring his expertise to the luxury yacht market, helping clients find the perfect vessel for their adventures on the water. Whether you're buying, selling, or just looking for expert advice on your next yacht, he's here to help.
